A RARE 8×10 Glossy photo. BY RUDOLPH DE HARAK. The engine installation is in the Cummins Museum, just inside the front entrance of the Cummins Headquarters. Nearly every nut and bolt of Exploded Engine is deconstructed to its smallest detail and hangs in midair, suspended by floor to ceiling wires. This sculpture of is a Cummins’ NTC-400 Big Cam III engine deconstructed into more than 500 unique parts suspended in midair. The NTC-400 Big Cam III was the largest diesel engine engine produced by Cummins Inc. Composed entirely of real production parts, this engine has been dissected to expose every element comprising the complex inner workings of this mass-produced flagship engine.
