Custom manifold for a 4BT. This was built from a 6BT manifold. One end was cut and plated with a cast iron slug. Manifold was sandblasted, pre-heated, slug was TIG welded with a nickel rod, then was post-heated and slowly cooled in an insulated blanket. It was very nicely done, and this process is commonly use to make a 4BT manifold from a 6BT manifold. I didn’t use, because I went a different direction with the project. Manifold is drilled and tapped two places 1/8-27 NPT for an EGT probe or drive pressure gauge. Please be aware that this will put the turbo in a location that no other factory manifolds do, which might be just what you need for a custom application… But this should be used with a undivided turbo exhaust housing, since the runners are not balanced. Three runners feed the one volute opening of the turbo flange, and one runner feeds the other. If a divided turbo exhaust housing is used, one volute will have much more flow than the other. On a undivided exhaust housing both volutes merge together, so it shouldn’t cause an issue.
