I specifically looked for the very rare format of 10.2m long, and with a 6 litre Cummins engine – this bus ticks both boxes – it’s long and roomy, but really powerful and reliable. With just 312,000 miles on the Cummins it’s nicely run in, but with a huge life left! I picked it up from Bournemouth and drove to North Leicester in one hit – the bus drove fantastically well, it pulls like a train, loads of power from the 6 litre Cummins engine, it really is a pleasure to drive- even for 6 hours without a stop! It had also just been serviced. As the world changed due to COVID we didn’t convert into a bar and the bus has not been used since. The MOT is now expired but I’m sure it will sail through as it’s done a few hundred miles since the last one! When I picked it up there was a loose connection on a sensor on the alternator (it senses whether the engine is running and therefore stops the electronic start from being pushed if it is running). I haven’t fixed that problem and the batteries are now both flat too – they probably need replacing as they’ve been flat for a while I suspect. For a bus mechanic / fitter I suspect an hours work will get the bus running. I haven’t removed or altered anything on the bus – in fact I bought it, drove it for 6 hours, parked it and it’s been there for a over a year since! That does mean that It could go back to work as a bus or for conversion into catering unit / bar / motorhome. I repeat is does not currently run due to the flat batteries and the loose connection – It hasn’t been moved for 12 months so will need attention in situ (it’s in a farm yard so you’re welcome to work on it to get it going, there’s plenty of room). There’s also plenty of space for a recovery vehicle if that’s your preference. NO VAT – So fantastic value and priced to sell!
